Double Trouble State Park also speaks about the pine barren history. Double Trouble State Park covers a large area of 8000 acres and serves as an important cultural, natural and recreational resources representative of the Pineland National Reserve.

The historic village is associated with the cranberry agriculture and Atlantic white cedar logging and milling industries of New Jersey.
Actually the historic village inside Double Trouble State Park was a cranberry farm and packing plant. The park has got the name Double Trouble from Double Trouble Company which was formed here in the 1700s to sell cranberries, mill work products and timbers. You would get to see some sawmills in the historic village, which used to earn huge money in those times. Apart from that you would also find several historic structures that date back to the late 19th century and a store, a school and some houses.
