Farny State Park

The state parks that are located in different parts of the state speaks about the abundance of natural assets of New Jersey. For its various features, New Jersey is one of the most important tourist destinations in the Northeastern part of United States of America. Large number of domestic and international tourists come to New jersey for vacations and holidays because there is so much to see here. And as far as scenic beauty is concerned, the parks in New Jersey are the best places to visit and that is why they remain thickly crowded almost throughout the year. However there are some parks in New Jersey that are not visited much by people because of their location and unavailability of facilities. Farny State Park is the perfect example of that.

Situated in Rockaway township in the Morris county, Farny State Park is one of the least visited parks in New Jersey but offers great scenic beauty. However if you are looking for relaxing in a place that is far away from locality then Farny State Park is an ideal place for you. The location of Farny State Park is one of the major reasons why people do not prefer visiting it, but that does not mean it is difficult to reach. Farny State Park covers a huge area of 3,951 acres and most of it is a wilderness area. The beautiful trails that have gone through the forest might attract you to go for an adventurous journey.

Though no special facility for recreational activities is available in Farny State Park you might opt for hiking because there are several difficult. You would also get to see the Splitrock waterfalls which looks wonderful in the winter. You may spend your time by exploring the forest area and watching activities of wild animals or may simply relax lying on the soft carpet of green grass.

Farny State Park is also a wonderful spot for picnic and as it is least visited there is no problem for advanced booking. However you need to carry all cooking accessories and try to come back to the city before evening.
