Washington Rock State Park

Tourism is one of the major contributors in the economy of New jersey, a state in the Northeastern part of United States of America. Located in Green Brook Township, Washington Rock State Park is one such park that is visited by large number of people.

Located at the top of the Watchung Mountain in Green Brook Township, the Washington Rock State Park is a wonderful place that offers great scenic beauty to people. Washington Rock State Park covers a huge area of 52-acres and consists beautiful greeneries and water bodies. Washington Rock State Park, which is now maintained and operated by the New Jersey Division of Parks and Forestry is one of the oldest parks in New Jersey.

Washington Rock State Park was established in the year 1913 to commemorate the historical events that took place in the year 1777. Washington Rock State Park has also got some historical importance as it is located in the place from where General Washington used to monitor the movement of British army as the Continental Army had its camp in Middlebrook. You would get to see some historical specimens that would take you back to the days of General Washington.

Apart from concentrating on history you can also perform various other activities like camping and fishing. For its great scenic beauty and wonderful atmosphere, Washington Rock State Park is also a very popular picnic spot. But if you want to go there for picnic, then you must reserve your place at least one month earlier.
