New Jersey Major Cities

New Jersey is a state with a difference. It is modern state away from factories and forest of concrete. Most of New Jersey consists of sandy beaches, historical monuments and art galleries. Most of the New Jersey major cities have a beauty of its own. Most of the cities are connected with other major cities of America and of the world by flights.

Some of the notable New Jersey major cities are as follows:

Newark: Newark is respected as New Jersey's biggest city. It occupies the third position in the list of major old cities in United States. It was founded in the year 1666 by Robert Treat after the Puritans came to America. It is the home of New Jersey's most important international airport- Newark Liberty International Airport. South Park Presbyterian Church, Museum of African American Music, Newark Museum and New Jersey Historical Society are some of the tourist attractions in Newark.

Jersey City: Jersey City is the second largest city in New Jersey. Jersey City mainly has of a mixed population consisting of Filipino, Jewish, Irish, Italian, Indian, Cuban and Polish. It is also believed that this city in comparison to other New Jersey major cities, has the largest number of Muslims in America. Apart from being an important tourist destination, Jersey City is also popular for its educational institutes and hence has large number of students.

Ocean City: Ocean City is an important beach destination. This is the reason why Ocean city is one of the most popular tourist destination in New Jersey. There are several amusement parks, theaters, water parks and historical monuments in Ocean City. To cater to the needs of the tourists there are several world class hotels in Ocean City as well.
